| Our Animals ... Pedigree Highland Cattle, Cheviot Sheep, Aberdeen Angus Cattle. |
| At bank head we have 20 pedigree Highland Cattle; some of which where purchased from Oban and Perth auctions from 2001 and the rest is our own breed. We also have 40 offspring’s from these cows. All our cows run freely round the farm all year round and also calve all year round as the bull runs with them! Highlanders are a slow maturing breed which only need grass to live off and a very small quantity of feed supplement. To make the meat a full flavoured marble meat. We also run a flock of North Country Cheviot sheep which run freely on the Orton fell limestone paving. We sell the lambs from the ewes when they are mature at around 8mth to a year old as the Cheviots are a slow growing breed. We also have a commercial Aberdeen Angus Heard which supplies Waitrose and Marks and Spencer’s. |
